Recently a friend of mine asked on Facebook for recommendations of what Bible College you would send a young person to get their mission’s degree. I responded with a few thoughts and would like to share with you why the Our Generation Training Center is the best place for missions training. 

1. The purpose of the OGTC is to send out missionaries. It is not just a Bible college that offers a missions degree. Its purpose and heart are missions. You will not only be getting a missions degree but also be equipped and trained for the mission field
2. You will be trained and taught by missionaries. The man who started OGTC, Austin Gardner, was a very successful missionary to Peru for many years and came back to the states to raise and send out more missionaries. He teaches as well as Jeff Bush who was a missionary in Argentina and is now director of Vision Baptist Missions. Robert Canfield is the director of the OGTC and is a missionary representative of Africa. There will be veteran missionaries that are teaching classes so you will be taught by men who have been on the field and are not just teaching theory
3. The OGTC gives you a path to being a missionary. Many colleges might give you a degree, but after that, you have to figure out the next steps on your own. However, at the OGTC, they will help you through your training, your deputation, language school, church planting, and beyond. I genuinely believe that if you want to get to the mission field, there is no better place to go. 
4. All students are required to take a six-month internship to work with a veteran missionary overseas. I think this is extremely helpful for someone who wants to be a missionary. You have time enough to see and understand what ministry on the field looks like, as well as an opportunity to deal with the challenges of culture shock and language learning. I this is an excellent opportunity for students to see what missions is and if God would have them to go before spending two years on deputation and support raising 

I am somewhat biased about this because I went to the OGTC. However, I am biased because I had a great experience at the OGTC, and know that I am here on the mission field today in a huge part due to the OGTC and the people there.
