And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. Mark 14:36
This truth right here is probably the one of the hardest things that I deal with in my Christian life. How many times have I been able to say, “not my will but Yours” to God? The worst part about it is that many times I simple do not even think about what God wants and do my own thing. I don’t ask God what His will is. There are other times where I can see God’s will clearly but decide that my way is better. In both of these cases I am setting myself up for failure. Only by following Jesus’ example and obeying God will will I find victory over sin and direction in my life. Am I willing to let go of my will in exchange for what God wants?
Kason, thank you for this reminder today. The struggle is real which is why the great Apostle Paul stated his need for daily dying to selfish desires and ambitions.
