And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. Mark 9:35

The disciples were having one of those “who is the best” lunchroom conversation. They started talking and arguing who was the greatest. Peter was probably yelling at everyone that he did the most with Jesus. Judas  brings up the fact that Jesus trusted him with the money. John says, “I am the one that Jesus loves” and then drops the mic. I don’t know exactly what was going on but they were trying to figure out who is the best and Jesus comes in and tells them that they had a wrong attitude. Jesus makes it clear that that our job is to be a servant. We should not try to be the first but the last. So many times, even in ministry, we can live our lives so that we will be become the number one guy. This verse makes it clear that we should be servants. We should live to make others a success.
